March 21, 2025 - Friday - Today we drove over to the city of Brea, CA to visit the Brea Gallery. The gallery is owned and operated by the city and it's located in their Civic Center Plaza. Their latest exhibit is called "Bitter/Sweet." Their program states "Bitter/Sweet honors the euphoria and despair inextricably tied to our most personal moments, the beginning and completion of life stages, and the triumphs and challenges in between."
We couldn't figure this one out.
But then the motor switched on and it's an inflatable table, chairs, birthday cake, glasses, bottles, plates and balloons.
This one is painted and embroidery, it says "Sorry for your loss but Happy Birthday!."
These are all pictures of mausoleums.
A photographer took pictures on his son "at the office."
The office was on display.
It was a fun exhibit, we enjoyed it.
Before the gallery we had lunch at the Lazy Dog Restaurant, also located in the same complex.
We both had the same entree, a "Black + Blue Burger" with a grilled half-pound beef patty, blue cheese, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, and blue cheese dressing. Judy passed on the lettuce and had a side of Asian Cole slaw.
I had the lettuce and a side of fries.
They had a promotional deal which gave us a free dessert. We chose the "S'More Brownie Sundae" which is their homemade chocolate chip brownie with graham cracker crust, chocolate sauce, toasted marshmallow and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
Believe or not, we finished it.
