January 4, 2024 - Thursday - Today we were back in the desert to see a little known memorial. The Desert Holocaust Memorial is located in Palm Desert, CA and we were looking forward to seeing it. It's located in a section of the Civic Center Park, which is beautiful.
This guy is called "The Dreamer."
Bronze murals surround the site.
The center of the memorial has several bronze statues on an engraved granite base.
The memorial is very powerful and unforgettable.
After the memorial we had lunch at a place that we've driven by many times, but we hadn't eaten there until today. The Café des Beaux-Arts is a French bistro in Palm Desert.
Almost all of the seating is under a covered patio that is climate controlled year round.
To start we had their delicious French onion soup.
My entrée brought back memories of dining in Quebec City, Canada. The dish is called "Moules-Frites," which is mussels and clams Marinière, with French fries and mayonnaise.
Judy chose their "Chicken Curry Salad" with papaya slices.
We loved everything! We now have a new favorite in Palm Desert.
