June 30, 2024 - Sunday - Today we were in Riverside, CA to visit the historic First Congregational Church. FCC was founded on April 1, 1872 and was the first church in Riverside. Frank Miller, owner and proprietor of the Mission Inn, became a member in 1878 and led the effort to build the current building which was completed in 1914. The building was designed by Myron Hunt in the Spanish Churrigueresque (Baroque) style.
While the exterior is ornate, the interior of the church is austere.
It appears to be a nice place to worship. Judy thought that it wasn't intimidating, as some churches can be.
After the church we had lunch at our Riverside favorite, Tio's Tacos.
Judy had her usual, cheese enchiladas.
I had my usual, shrimp with garlic sauce.
