May 27, 2018 - It's been awhile since we've visited the Malki Museum in Banning, so we were there today to check out their annual Kewét (fiesta) celebration. It's always colorful and there are a lot of Native American arts and crafts for sale. Plus, the food is always tasty and interesting as well.
The festivities started out with bird singing.
We've been to several events in the past that had Aztec dancers, but the schedules never worked for us, until today. The colorful costumes were dazzling!
The next performer was a hoop dancer. How they manage not to trip themselves up is a mystery to me.
We were able to talk with Jacque Nunez, who we had met in 2016. She has a wonderful voice.
At noon lunch was served and we enjoyed everything they served today; barbecued beef, beans, Cole slaw, corn on the cob, tortillas and salsa.
It was a beautiful day, with nice people, great entertainment and great food. That's a great adventure!
