February 14, 2025 - Friday - Today we were in Palm Springs to see the latest exhibit at the Palm Springs Art Museum. "David Hockney: Perspective Should Be Reversed" presents a wide body of works produced during a six decade long career. It features nearly 200 of the artist’s works in a variety of media. The exhibition highlights Hockney’s lifelong experiments with non-traditional perspectives for depicting the world.
This huge self portrait has Hockney looking at his flowers.
And on the opposite wall are the actual paintings.
Here's one where the perspective was reversed.
It is a very interesting exhibit, although the gallery is broken up so you feel that you're in a maze. The photograph below is called "In the Studio."
Before the museum we had brunch at Elmer's.
I had their German pancake with lemon and butter. My side dish was two eggs and bacon!
Judy chose their Lingoberry crepes, and her side was two eggs and sausage links.
I don't know how, but we managed to finish almost everything. It was delicious!
