April 21, 2018 - We were in Riverside today to see the fifth annual Riverside Art Market, which benefits the Riverside Art Museum. The museum building was built in 1929 by the architect of the Hearst Castle, Julia Morgan. The Art Market has over 90 artists and vendors located within the Museum and the nearby Riverside Municipal Auditorium.
All of the street lights in Riverside incorporate this Mission design, which is the symbol of the city.
Every type of art and craft that you could think of was here, including bottle cap art.
Before the market, we had lunch at Tio's Tacos, also located in downtown Riverside. The decor is wild, with lots of home grown sculpture and tile work. It's usually so busy that we've never seen the tabletops before, but today we had an opportunity.
I had my usual shrimp and garlic dish, which is great with their beans and rice. Judy had a cheese enchilada with green sauce and Mexican flautas, which are very similar to taquitos. As always, everything was delicious.
