September 23, 2020 - Wednesday - Today was a huge treat for us since it's been months since we've had a real adventure, which included eating out at a restaurant! Our destination was San Clemente, CA for a hike along their Beach Trail.
While we were on the trail, Amtrak's "Surfliner" train went rolling through. It hugs the coast on its trip north.
We broke off from the trail to walk in the sand and get our feet wet.
Our lunch today was served by the Fisherman's Restaurant and Oyster Bar, located right on the pier, under the blue awnings in the distance.
They had all the Covid-19 precautions including Plexiglas panels between the diners.
Judy's choice was their Shrimp Scampi with a delicious butter and garlic sauce.
My choice was a bucket of steamed clams with garlic, celery and onion.
We couldn't leave without having dessert, an almond New York cheesecake.
After all these months, it was great to experience a "normal" adventure. The old normal, of course, this new normal stinks.
