April 7, 2021 - Wednesday - Today we were in Fullerton, CA to visit the Muckenthaler Cultural Center. We came to see their new exhibit called "The Persistence of Memory: Salvador Dali and His Influence." Works by Dali are interspersed with works inspired by the master in a variety of media including film, dance, and drawing. The center was once the private home of the Muckenthaler family that was built in 1925.
The amphitheater was part of the original construction.
The interior of the house is just as fascinating as the artwork of the exhibit.
This Dali inspired robot was fun to watch.
The exhibit only runs through tomorrow, April 8th, so we were lucky to get out tickets today.
For lunch today, we had pizza (dine in) at our Fullerton favorite, Fuoco Pizzeria Napoletana. The short story is that the owners are from Naples, Italy and all of their meats, flour and cheeses are imported from Italy.
We ordered two pies. The first one is called "Diavola" made with tomato sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella, salame piccante, basil, and extra virgin olive oil.
The second pie is their "Quattro Formaggi" made with tomato sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, parmigiano, gorgonzola, basil, and extra virgin olive oil.
We ate half of each today, so lunch tomorrow will be half of each again. It's fantastic! |
