March 6, 2025 - Thursday - Today we were back in Rancho Cucamonga, CA to visit the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art.  Their latest exhibit is called "Affirmations: Mindfulness in Contemporary Abstract Painting."  Since it focuses on contemporary abstract painting, we didn't know how we'd feel about the exhibit before arriving.  That's why we call them "adventures."

What we found was a small exhibit of abstract art, a lot of the pieces geometric in design and probably aided by computer design.

We couldn't figure out how the "mindfulness" of its theme came into play.

Some of the pieces were incredibly complex.

While the painting above looks like it was computer generated, the detail below shows the individual brush strokes.

We kind of left scratching our heads, trying to understand the point they were attempting to create.  We just didn't get it.  While we were killing time before eating, we found a new store called Daiso.  It's like a Japanese dollar store, except all of the prices were in Japanese yen.  There are many conversion charts around so you'd know the price in American dollars.  If there wasn't a yen price, the item sold for $1.75.  Judy could have spent hours there, it's quite unique.

After the Daiso store we had lunch at our new Rancho Cucamonga favorite, Ozen.  It's a casual restaurant offering Japanese cuisine such as sushi, seafood, and tempura.

We both had their sautéed asparagus.

And we both had their shrimp tempura, with a side of white rice.

We love it here, the food is fresh and tasty.
